    The first overwatch esports tournament of 2017 is the Overwatch Winter Premiere 2017 presented by NGE on Twitch with a prize pool of $100,000. The qualifier (called Open Play) was held December 10-13, 2016 seeing 8 teams making it into the Overwatch Winter Premiere. The group stages are on Jan. 3-5 & Jan. 10-12 for group play phase 1, Jan. 17-19 for group play phase 2. The live finals date have yet to be announced.

    Overwatch Winter Premiere 2017 Rules

    Overwatch Winter Premiere have the 8 teams that made it through the open play qualifier. These 8 teams will play two round-robin group stages called group play phase 1 and group play phase 2. Two teams will be eliminated from group play phase 1, two teams will be eliminated from group play phase 2. The remaining 4 teams will play at the Winter Premiere “Live Finals”. Which is a single elimination LAN.

    Overwatch Premiere 2017 Semifinals & Finals Results

    The semifinals and finals are a best of 5 series. Also, Kungarna signed with a new esports organization called Ghost Gaming on January 26th, 2017. A day before the final day began, So Kungarna will be listed below as Ghost. Kungarna second support Alex “Ajax” Jackson will not be signing with Ghost. After Overwatch Premiere, Ghost will have to find another support.

    Immortals and Ghost showed they’re the top 2 teams in this tournament by sweeping their opponents 3-0. Who knew these two would be in the Finals at the start of the group stage? I know I didn’t expect to see Ghost in the finals. Ghost started the finals off strong going 1-0 until Immortals stepped up their game and came back to win the series 3-1.
